Last night for us Maidens was {not to be dramatic} But life changing.We have bouted some teams before but never have we learned so much.And felt such an amazing vibe and we fell in love with derby all over again,Thank you for that.But it also meant something more to me on a personal level.My daughter was born with so many problems with her brain {masses,fluid} She has struggled so much in her life,Massive seizures that caused her to die and have to be brought back.She also has Aspergers..We have done so much therapy and struggled with so many things. Always knowing she would be different and not socially accepted breaks my heart But with derby .She has found her place where she has no judgement.And your mini skirtz are amazing.You and Hurtz are doing some amazing things i just wanted you to thank you for helping her and she thanks you as well.Much love to you and your team

Ii am a proud parent of a skater on the Mini Skirtz team. The way everybody treats my daughter is excellent. Hurts and Matrix are great role models and mentors not just for my daughter but all the girls on the team young and advanced. Hurts had mentioned at practice how much better my daughter has improved in skating and attitude since she has joined the team and even at home her attitude has changed for the good and I think what they are doing is a great thing. They teach the girls self control. The Skee Town Skirtz are definitely doing derby different, it is not the same as we use to watch growing up but it is great to have my daughter in something that she really enjoys and they involve the whole family not just her. We volunteer and help out in any way we can. The Skee Town Skirtz are a great team and anyone interested in joining should check them out it is well worth it. - Stageman

The Skee Town Skirtz can be found anywhere... we are not just a sports league, we are an attitude. We are an emotion. We are unique. We are a special group of people that can weather any storm, survive any attack and support one another, regardless of any personal likes or dislikes. We are strong. Many claim to be a Skirt, only to find out they don't have what it takes - unconditional humility, unconditional patience, unconditional forgiveness and unconditional love.

The Skirtz are not just skaters, they are supporters of a vision - whether they've ever strapped wheels to their feet or not. They will fight the good fight and lick their wounds together stronger than any obstacle that tries to destroy them. The Skirtz embody that last glimmer of hope that there are still people that would do whatever it takes to defend that vision. Skirtz wear a number of hats and multiple jerseys. They come from all over the mitten and from coast to coast to support a vision - athletism, integrity, mentorship and sportsmanship.

Skirtz are not perfect and often fall prey to the forces that try to destroy them, but when all is said and done, the real Skirtz remain. There are many who will claim to be a Skirt but weed themselves out when the negative forces become too strong. You'll recognize them by their shirt tucked away in the back of a closet using words like "used to be" and "remember when". Nay sayers that will try to infiltrate our vision with fear and doubt.

Then there are those that fall when given that huge hit by a blocker 3 x their size, pick their battered and bruised selves up and rejoin the pack proudly wearing the Skee Town Skirtz logo like a badge of honor. It's in their blood. There are Skirtz in every city, in every league. There are Skirtz that have never heard of derby and are just waiting to be discovered.
